Stock markets on Thursday finished the session of the week flat as the major indices of the both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges showed no significant rise amid lower activities of large-cap securities.
The benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse closed the day with 0.26 point up at 6,297.25. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 0.16 point up at 2,142.94. But, the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.98 point down at 1,368.05.
Out of 324 issues traded, 84 closed lower, 72 advanced and 168 issues remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
The major gaining issues were ARAMIT, NTC, AMBEEPHA, EMERALDOIL and EMERALDOIL. The major losing companies were Desh Bandhu, KBPPWBIL, Jute Spinning, Meghna Pet and CAPMIBBLMF.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 23.19 points down at 18,599.76.
At CSE, 167 issues were traded. Of those, 26 closed higher and 74 closed lower when 16.24 lakh shares worth Taka 5.06 crore changed hands.
