The country's main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange’s (CSE) DSEX, the main index, rose 101 points on Thursday.
At the end of the transaction, the index is at 5,986 points, which is the highest position of the index since February 15, 2017. On that day, the index was at 6,050 points.
On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) index has risen sharply. The overall index of this capital market CASPI has increased by 27 points.
The transaction on the DSE has exceeded Tk 2,000 crore. The total transaction was Tk 236888 crore. With this, in the last six working days, the index released Tk 2,000 crore in three working days. On Wednesday, 2,008 crore was traded on the DSE. Among the exchanged shares and mutual funds, 163 have risen, 143 have fallen and 58 have remained unchanged.
Beximco, Prime Bank, IFIC, Lankabangla Finance, Northern Insurance, Southeast Bank, NCC Bank, BATBC, Grendelta Insurance and Pioneer Insurance are the top companies trading on the DSE on Thursday.
The top companies are Northern Insurance, Pragati Life Insurance, Grendelta Insurance, Pioneer Insurance, Delta Life Insurance, Salvo Chemical, Fareast Islami Life Insurance, First Security Islami Bank and Jamuna Bank.
On the other hand, 51779375 shares of 297 companies and units of mutual funds were traded.
Of the shares and units traded, 140 rose, 125 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
At the end of the day, the main index of CSE increased by 277 points to 17,347 points. Shares worth Tk 104.37 crore were traded on the CSE on the day. Shares worth Tk 149.30 crore were traded on the CSE the previous day.
