Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will affix stickers on CNG-run buses and minibuses. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held at the BRTA building on Tuesday afternoon.

BRTA chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder told media, "We will put up separate stickers on the front side of CNG-run buses so that there would be no problem in identifying them. Owners have been asked to help identify the CNG-powered buses and minibuses.”

According to BRTA sources, BRTA will go for investigation after receiving information from bus and minibus owners. Then the sticker will be affixed. These activities will be completed in a short possible time.

BRTA has increased bus fares in response to the demands of the owners due to the increase in diesel prices.

According to BRTA, the new fare can only be implemented in the case of diesel-powered buses. However, it cannot be implemented in CNG-powered buses and minibuses.

BRTA does not have information of how many buses and minibuses run on CNG.
