The government is planning to train teachers on ‘Autism’ and ‘Neuro-Developmental Disability’, under the National Academy for Autism and Neuro-Developmental Disabilities (NAAND) project.
The project is being implemented by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) under the Ministry of Education.
A total of 300 teachers will get ‘Master Trainer’ training in a 10-day long campaign, in 6 batches (50 people in each batch) in Fiscal Year 2021-2022.
In this regard, a notification signed by Prof Syed Md Golam Faruk, Director General of DSHE was published on Thursday. It was later published on DSHE's website.
Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Education Cadre teachers interested in participating in it are invited to apply in the form of a table within the next 15 working days.
According to the notification, Education Cadre officers will fill in the information through the appropriate authority and send to the e-mail (naandtraining@gmail.com). However, hardcopy of the application does not have to be provided.
A number of conditions have been mentioned in determining eligibility. Applicants must be BCS education cadre officers, who have previously participated in this training have been asked not to re-apply.
In addition, priority will be given to teachers who have children with autism and NDD. Preference will also be given to lecturers and assistant professors in psychology, social welfare and sociology. Preference will be given to teachers trained in integrated education. Date, venue and list of final nominees for the training will be published on the website of the DSHE and the NAAND project.
