While addressing a programme at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital Dhaka, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically says her government will work with those countries which will support Bangladesh’s journey towards development and prosperity, not taking into consideration who engages in war with whom.
She (Sheikh Hasina) wants to move ahead with the countries supporting Bangladesh’s advancement regardless of their involvement in conflits. We highly applaud Sheikh Hasina’s for such bold statement she made in her speech.
The international development partners have already expressed optimism as they feel so happy to have witnessed the Bangladesh development process as top fans seated in the front row. Bangladesh has emerged as a dignified nation on the world stage and the country wants to move keeping its head high.
However, a vested quarter at home and abroad is hatching conspiracies and spreading propaganda against the government and the country to hinder its progress. Therefore, a question was raised about why some people at home and abroad cannot accept any achievement of Bangladesh.
Why do they feel discomfort seeing the development of Bangladesh? Why cannot they accept any achievements Bangladesh has made?
The ruling Awami League must step forward defying all odds and hurdles, as a vested interested group is always there to pull back Awami League and Sheikh Hasina so that they cannot come to power. The present government is maintaining a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption, militancy and terrorism.

For the first time in the world, Bangladesh has formulated a 100-year plan named ‘Delta Plan 2100’. Bangladesh is one of the five top countries in the world in economic development and ninety percent of development works are done with the country’s own resources.
The people are now reaping benefits of development as Awami League has been in power for the fourth consecutive time. We believe Bangladesh is moving forward and it will go on. Today we are a dignified nation and moving ahead keeping our head high.
Bangladesh wants friendship with all the countries across the wold and the country continues to make progress, maintaining friendly relations with all. All must remain alert so that none can push the country backward.
We believe that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is the epitome of Bangladesh’s development. She had to walk on the path of various obstacles, but she has reached her goal. She established the truth by foiling all the conspiracies over the construction of the Padma Bridge.
Construction of the Padma Bridge built with our own resources bears the testimony of Sheikh Hasina’s visionary leadership. A bold decision by the Prime Minister to build the Padma Bridge has earned her international recognition as a great statesman. The image of Bangladsh has brightened due to construction of the mega structure. We seek support of the international business community in Bangladesh’s journey towards a developed and “smart” country by 2041.
Bangladesh has become a role model of development and the country will continue its development journey overcoming all hurdles. We believe that foreign countries like the USA, the UK, India and China, will stay with us as partners in our development journey.
