The officials of all government, semi-government autonomous, private organisations, banks, and financial institutions must stay at their respective workplaces during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in order to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The coronavirus situation may deteriorate further due to the increased public movement across the country centring the Eid.  Therefore, we all will not travel risking our lives on the occasion of Eid and celebrate the festival where we are now.

On Wednesday the government issued a notification extending the ongoing lockdown until May 16 and asking the government and non-government officials not to leave the station as no one knows who is carrying the virus during their journeys.

We all need to stay home and refrain from

travelling in a bid to prevent transmission

and control the pandemic

We think the government has taken the right decision to check the mad rush of people for home amid the coronavirus pandemic. And such mad rush could result in travelers’ spreading the virus to others at their destinations or upon returning home.

The notification says 100% use of masks should be ensured and legal steps can be taken through mobile courts if needed. All social, political, and religious programs that create public gatherings will not be allowed to be arranged during this period. We think conscious people will not make “unnecessary” trips to their respective home districts for the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays amid a rise in Covid-19 cases.

Therefore, we all will stay home and refrain from travelling in a bid to prevent transmission and control the pandemic. Besides, we all will abide by health protection rules and not to travel from one place to another unless there is an urgent matter.
