I, Ron Haque Sikder, and my brother, Dipu Haque Sikder, are expressing utmost gratitude to the court. It has been proved today that we were innocent. The final report of police stated that they did not find any proof of the allegations brought against us. However, several media outlets have been slandering us for more than a year considering the allegations true. It was so unfortunate for our family. It is very painful for us that our late father valiant freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder could not see that their sons are innocent. The much-expected court decision in favor of us came on the very birthday of our father; maybe for his blessings from heaven.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court on August 12 cleared us of the charges made in the case filed by Sirajul Islam. The case might have been filed out of misunderstanding over business and at the instigation of any ‘enemy party’.
We, the two sides, came to a compromise on July 8, 2021, in which we pledged that we would accept whatever verdict comes from the court in the case filed by Sijrajul Islam as it turned into State versus Ron Haque Sikder and Dipu Haque Sikder case. We also pledged that none of the two parties would appeal against the verdict.
Sikder Family has a good relationship with Exim Bank for long. Our business cooperation and a good relationship will be maintained as it was in the past and will even grow gradually in the future.
