Today is Father’s Day and like every other country in the world in Bangladesh too this day is celebrated by all. Similarly the stars of showbiz are also spending this day paying tribute and respect to their fathers. Although this year the coronavirus pandemic has spoiled everything to some extent the celebrations are not totally stopped. A Mizan and Md Saifuddin Al Quaderi writes about this special day after talking to some of the stars.

Mim

My father has been my biggest support: Bidya Sinha Mim

Since I was a child till now my father is the person who still wakes me up from sleep every day. This proves how much father loves me. Being in the media industry there are often long stretches of time when I am out for shooting and at these times I miss my family the most. And the most special thing that I miss is the green tea mixed with a dash of lemon that my father makes for me. My father has been my biggest supporter since I got into the media. He still upholds be in every way possible. Without a doubt, like everyone else I also love my father. I just hope that I get to show my love for them in the future days, the same love that they have given me throughout my life.

Mehazabien

My father trusts us all: Mehazabien Chowdhury

In this situation of the world the only thing that I want is for my father to take care of his health to the best of his ability. Stay away from all kinds of frustration. Don’t worry too much about the problems in the world right now. I think the most important thing is to try to be well by you. Father is a superhero in the eyes of every child and my father is also a superhero in my eyes because there is nothing that he did not do for us. The biggest thing is that my father has confidence in each of his children. He always told us that no matter what we do we should aim for the best. He has given us liberty to study. But he wants a good result. All in all, the only thing that I want for my parents at the moment is that they take care of themselves and be healthy.

Apurba

I want my child to grow up with the love of my parents: Apurba

My father was a police officer. From a young age, I grew up following my father’s example. The thing that I cherish most about my father’s ideals is that my father always loved to keep us all together with the thread of love. There was always something very good about being together. There is no chance of avoiding the family bond. Just as I grew up in the love of my father, in the same way I want my child to grow up in love of my parents. I also want him to learn something from his grandparents. Family education is the most important thing for a person to grow up. Learning from his family, he set foot in the outside world. I hope my son will also learn the same way I learnt from my parents and grow up to be a good human being.

My father taught me how to be honest: Kona

My relationship with my father, since childhood, has been one of friendship rather than distant. My elder sister and I used to go in the same rickshaw with my father when I was studying in Mogbazar Girls School. I would sit on my father's lap, and my sister sat next to me. My father taught me how to be honest. I learned by seeing how honest my father was. I try to be honest enough in my profession, in my work and I am just as forgiving as my father. I don't have much ambition in life. But since my father doesn’t want to get aboard airplanes I have never been able to go anywhere with him. I want once for my father to get one an airplane and travel together to some place.
