While addressing the ‘Special Jatiya Sangsad Session’ marking the parliament’s golden jubilee President M Abdul Hamid called upon all to stand united against any evil force that threatens the country’s hard-earned democracy. It is presumed to be his (Abdul Hamid) last speech in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) as the President.
Abdul Hamid’s second term as President is coming to an end on April 23. He has been the President for last 10 years in two consecutive terms. President-elect Md Sahabuddin is likely to take oath as the new President on April 24.
President Abdul Hamid urged the countrymen irrespective of political affiliations to join together to build a welfare-oriented state keeping the beloved motherland away from conflicts and any extremist and terror acts. Referring to the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad polls, the President said election is the only way to come to power or bring change.

We all will have to attach highest importance to the outgoing president’s worthy words as different evil forces and element and some identified influential persons allegedly are now very active in plotting against the country and government as well. Like in the past, they have already stepped up their ill-efforts ahead of the next 12th parliamentary elections in order to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and install a dictator being imbued with the anti-liberation thought.
Besides, they are also helping the organised evil forces comprising several vested quarters and extreme communal groups incited by the anti-liberation forces and killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and their patrons in order to make Bangladesh a failed country.
They are trying to mislead the foreign diplomats, different world organisations and also governments of different countries. The evil forces led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are now desperate to look for a secret alley to seize the state power once again. But if BNP wants to go to power, it should try to win the hearts of the people instead of hatching conspiracy and seeking help of foreign force or agency.
People now understand that negative politics of the BNP has gobbled up the party. Countrymen also know who carried out bomb, grenade and bullet attacks, smuggled in 10-truck arms and misappropriated the money of the public and the orphans.
Therefore, we all have to be united in order to thwart the conspiracies of the evil forces.
