Standard Chartered has recently inaugurated a Business Development Office for Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (IEPZ) in Ishwardi, Pabna. The Bank now has its presence in all of the country’s eight EPZs - Dhaka Export Processing Zone, Savar, Dhaka; Adamjee Export Processing Zone, Siddhirganj, Narayanganj; Chattogram Export Processing Zone, South Halishahar, Chattogram; Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone, North Patenga, Chittagong; Comilla Export Processing Zone, Comilla; Mongla Export Processing Zone, Mongla, Bagerhat; Ishwardi Export Processing Zone, Ishwardi, Pabna; and Uttara Export Processing Zone, Nilphamari.
By opening this office, the Bank expands its offerings to better serve the corporate clientele at Ishwardi EPZ. The office will provide strategic service representation to the existing and potential clients. This will include trade documentation assistance and collection of day-to-day instructions and documents from clients for onward processing. In addition to this, clients will be able to avail various certifications required for trade transactions directly from the EPZ area, said a press release.
Apurva Jain, Head of Transaction Banking and Khaled Aziz, Chief Operating Officer from Standard Chartered Bangladesh, Md. Abdul Alim, General Manager from Ishwardi EPZ, along with other senior officials from Bank, Ishwardi EPZ and valued clients were present to mark the occasion. Standard Chartered Bank has played a pioneering role in establishing meaningful relationships with the EPZ clients by introducing first offshore banking facility in Dhaka EPZ back in 1994. The opening of this office in Ishwardi EPZ reiterates the Bank’s commitment to supporting the export-oriented growth trajectory of Bangladesh and further strengthens relationship with investors in all EPZs.
