‘Fanush’ is the new play of theatre group Friday Theatre. Although it is a stage drama, its director said that the word cinema should be added at the end of the word stage. He is reluctant to call it stage drama. In his words, it is a stage movie.
The rehearsal of the stage movie is currently underway. Its composition, dialogue, screenplay and direction is by Nikul Kumar Mondol. Choiti Chakraborty, Tarek, Pilot, Shakib, Alinur, Apon, Shaon, Kausar, Sohan, Sagar, Rahat, Zahid, Sagar Rain, Etisha, Jibon, Ahmed Jibon, Elin, Raju and many others will act in it.
The director said the show will be staged in next March. Nikul Kumar Mondol said, “The audience will find all the ingredients that are there to make a movie. If I had 5 million rupees I would shoot it through digital medium and release in cinema halls. Since I do not have that much money, I chose the stage to tell my story. Viewers will find similarities to commercial movie during the show. Hopefully the audience will love the stage movie.”
Shan Swapan composed the music, Farzana Anny did the costumes, Tanjil will do lighting and Tonmoy will do the makeup. ‘Fanush’ revolves around the dreams of a person beyond the greed of consumerism.
