Poverty has been a problematic reality for human life in Bangladesh. It is related to the socio-economic aspects and standard of living. Though, apparently it looks as if the concept of poverty is mainly tied to monetary income. A rapid and sustained manner of poverty reduction to achieve sustainable development goals requires a pattern and pace of economic growth which will help poor women and men to participate in the growth of poor.
However, apart from poverty there are also reports which say that the soon to be declared budget for fiscal year 2019-20 is supposed to envelope 1.3 million more people from various categories of the society. There are already a number of people who are beneficiaries under major social safety net programmes. This is going to get two positive outcomes, one is to make the capable people self-reliant and the other is to bring all social safety beneficiaries under one online database.
According to sources there have been initiatives taken by high ranking government officials in terms of excluding beneficiaries who are enjoying allowances but are capable of working. This is a must if the allocated budget is to be provided to those who are really in need of it rather than those who can misappropriate it.

Moreover, the amounts should be paid digitally through government exchequer. It is known that presently, only old age and widow allowances are being given through digital ways, to their personal accounts, if this can be ensured for all the other beneficiary categories then it can be less time-consuming.
Reports say that there should be surveys done to account for the autistic poor who are supposed to be brought under the net and get a monthly allowance. But so far nothing has surfaced which suggest that such an initiative has been taken. As autism affected people are a part of the community there should be ample scopes for them that they are able to do whatever they can to contribute to the society.
The initiatives taken are definitely commendable but social security is very much included in the fundamental services and as such it must be addressed thus. It is crucial for the rights conscious people of the society to raise voice towards the government for proper and effective implementation of social security policies.
