As the country is approaching new normal unlocking successive phases of lockdown, Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations are likely to be held in November and December accordingly, in a short time and following short syllabus.
The government is in favour of conducting the SSC and HSC examinations, if the corona pandemic situation is favourable.
This was asserted by Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, while she was addressing to reporters after inaugurating the new building of Mahamaya Government Primary School in Chandpur Sadar Upazila on Friday. In the meantime, she also said all the schools and colleges of the country will reopen from September 12 following the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, after being closed for almost 18 months due to the Corona pandemic.
Elaborating on the details, the minister said this year's SSC-HSC candidates and next year's candidates will attend classes every day at the first phase. The rest will come to school one day a week, but the number of their classes will gradually be increased following the corona situation.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said schools and colleges have been urged to reopen as soon as possible.
She made the remarks while participating in a discussion on a mourning motion for the death of MP Hasibur Rahman Swapon at the National Parliament on Thursday.
