The SSC Batch of 1987 reunited today at the historic Mujibnagar memorial, celebrating their friendship after a gap of 38 years.
Organized by "Meherpur Friends ’87," the day-long event saw around 750 alumni from across the country gather in a serene mango orchard. The air was filled with laughter and heartfelt conversations as old friends reminisced about their school days.
The programme commenced at 9:30 AM with the National Anthem. Advocate Kamrul Islam, President of Friends ’87, and General Secretary Shariful Islam formally welcomed the attendees. The inauguration was conducted by a group of distinguished alumni and guests through cake-cutting and a balloon release.
Distinguished guests, including Meherpur Sadar UNO Md. Khairul Islam and Mujibnagar UNO Palash Mondal, graced the occasion.
The reunion featured songs, poetry, and the sharing of life stories, proving that time had not weakened their bond. Organizers stated the event was not just a revival of memories but a step towards strengthening their friendship for the future, hoping to arrange similar gatherings again.
