Tottenham have received a timely boost ahead of the Champions League final after Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez returned to first-team training, report agencies.

Kane has not featured for Tottenham since suffering ankle ligament damage in the  Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Manchester City when he went down under a challenge from Fabien Delph. His season looked to be over but he looks to be winning his battle to be fit for the final after taking part in Thursday's training session.

There were fears over Vertonghen's fitness when he was pictured leaving the Amsterdam Arena in a protective boot.

Vertonghen suffered a suspected concussion in the Champions League semi-final first leg defeat in London but he was passed fit to start the second leg at the Amsterdam Arena and appeared to come through the game, which Tottenham won 3-2, without any issues.

However, he was pictured using crutches and with his right foot in a protective boot as he boarded the team bus after the game, raising concerns over his fitness.

However, like Kane and Sanchez, he has returned to training and manager Mauricio Pochettino

will be hoping he has a full

squad to choose from when his side play Liverpool in Madrid on Saturday, 1 June.
