AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Presidium Member of Awami League and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC)' said that ‘Sports Village' will be built in Rajshahi.
The RCC mayor made this pledge while addressing the Prize distribution ceremony of the 9th Real Star Masters Cricket Carnival held at the playground of Rajshahi Medical College Hostel on Monday. He distributed trophies and prizes among the winners of the competition as the chief guest.
Rajshahi Eagles emerged champion by defeating the Fighter Rajshahi in the final match.
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in his speech mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also a sports lover.
She herself cooked food and served those to the sportsmen. He hoped the continuity of the incumbent government would persist in future as the people want development, not the arson terror.
RCC Mayor also said that new playgrounds are being built in the city and a new playground has already been built adjacent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hightech Park.
He also pledged to build a 'Sports Village' (Krira Palli) beside the river Padma where sports will be held in an excellent environment and the viewers will also enjoy the games.
The function was, addressed, among others, by DIG, Rajshahi range, Md. Anisur Rahman, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Biplob Bijoy Talukder, Sector Commander of Rajshahi BGB Imran Ibne Rouf, Convener of Master's Cricket Carnival management committee and former Captain of National Cricket Team Khaled Masud Pilot and the Managing Director of sponsor Relay Star Syed Abdullah Shaon.
