Spice mill owner fined in ctg

The Consumer Rights Protection department has collected a fine of Tk 3 lakh from the owner of a spice mill in Khatunganj, which was sealed for mixing chili powder with harmful to human body.

The fine was collected from the owner of Alam Crassing Mill in Khatunganj on Tuesday morning.

 The campaign was conducted by Assistant Director of Consumer Rights Protection, Directorate Chattogram divisional office Anisur Rahman, District Office Director Nasreen Haque.

Anisur Rahman said that a mill was sealed on June 20 for mixing harmful colours of chili powder in Khatunganj.  Later, a fine of Tk 3 lakh was collected from the mill owner.

Besides, two companies were fined Tk 20,000 for not having a price list in the city's Boxirbit raw market.

Later, two pharmacies in Kotwali police station area were fined Tk 14,000 for storing expired medicines.
