The owner of Sultan Badshah spice grinding shop was fined Taka one lakh by a team from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Wednesday for mixing wood and textile dye with spices and engaging in numerous other violations in the Sadar upazila of Bogura.
Sources concerned said the team led by assistant director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Bogura Iftekharul Alam Rizvi conducted the drive at Sultan Badshah spice grinding shop and fined Taka one lakh for mixing textile dye and wood with spice in Raja Bazar under Sadar upazila of the district.
The business establishment was fined Taka 100,000 for various irregularities and violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation.
The DNCPR would continue the drive in the district, assistant director of DNCRP Iftekharul Alam Rizvi added.
