Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda paid a sudden visit to offices of the Dhanmondi and Lalbagh Circle Land Office in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.

Without any pre-scheduled agenda, the minister went to the Dhanmondi and Lalbagh Circle land offices and talked to the waiting service recipients about the quality of services provided by the land office.

He did not disclose his identity and asked them for suggestions to improve the services. Among the various service recipients, including a heroic freedom fighter, the minister informed the freedom fighters that the land office provides fast-track land services to them on a priority basis.

Joint Secretary of Ministry of Land Md. Khalilur Rahman was present with the minister.

Upon hearing the arrival of the minister, AC Lands, including the concerned officials, came to the waiting room outside. The minister instructed them to take quick action on the complaints of the service recipients.

Later, the minister inspected the circle's digital service dashboard and official documents.

He directed the land officials to promptly dispose of the mutation cases applied through transfer deeds.

Currently, registration is done by scrutinizing the updated mutation and land development tax receipt before registering the land.

Even before the sale or transfer of land in any other way, mutation and land development tax are paid through the same land office.

In that case, if the mutation is issued quickly without some formalities, there is no violation of any law and the people are also benefited.

Besides, the Ministry of Land has already taken initiatives to automate such mutation through the registration-mutation interconnection initiative. For the convenience of the people, the Minister of Land instructed the land officers to quickly dispose of the mutation cases applied through transfer deeds from now on.
