The farmers of the country are suffering to a great extent and being deprived of their due profits owing to the fact that they have no other option but to sell their produces to the middlemen. This causes a lot of problems including syndication and unbridled price of the essentials. But now it seems that there is a going to be a concrete solution thanks to the recent initiative by the government.

A report published in this daily showed that the government is going to set up markets meant for the farmers in 64 districts of the country in phases abolishing the middlemen system so that they get fair price for their agricultural produces. This is a great endeavour that has been in the process of realization for a long time. Now it seems that the government has mapped out the plan to establish a controlled system for the farmers without any loopholes to be infiltrated by middlemen or syndicates.

There is ample need of proper and well-trained

agriculture officials in these markets who will monitor

the process regularly and report any discrepancy.

The report also showed that a project worth 200 crores will be implemented to establish the district market system where the farmers can locally sell their agricultural produces to avoid middle men from meddling. Despite this there are always ways which unscrupulous people can take advantage of. There is ample need of proper and well-trained agriculture officials in these markets who will monitor the process regularly and report any discrepancy. In this case there is need of a central body which will take the reports of these agriculture officials into account to fully utilise the potential of the system.

In a nutshell, this system has the scope to give back to the farmers a whole lot more and give apt return to their efforts which have so far been misappropriated by syndicates and middlemen. This will also ensure that the price of the produced vegetables and agro-goods are kept in check all across the country.
