During the visit, he said, "The aim of this week-long special operation under the direction of the Mayor of DNCC is to reduce the number of mosquitoes in the initial days. Eventually, it becomes a major problem as we have seen in the earlier years, hence, this year we intend to start strong"

It may be mentioned that DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam was instructed to conduct a week-long 'Special Mosquito Extermination Campaign' from March 10, 2022, to March 16 in order to mark the historic month of March.

Throughout last year, some 28,368 patients had been admitted to different hospitals due to dengue in the country. Preparations are ongoing to minimize the harm caused by the mosquito prone diseases this year.
