Three new members of parliament (MPs) elected in parliamentary by-elections were sworn in on Saturday at Jatiya Sangsad with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administering their oath at 3.30 pm, reports BSS.
The MPs are Md Shafiul Islam Mahiuddin (Dhaka-10), Advocate Umme Kulsum Smriti (Gaibandha-3) and Advocate Amirul Alam (Bagerhat-4). The by-elections to these constituencies were held on March 21. Senior Secretary of JS Secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath taking creamery in a limited scale ahead of the beginning of the seventh session of the current 11th Sangsad.
