Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury left here for Japan on Tuesday at the invitation of Speaker of the House of the Representatives of Japan.
A Bangladesh parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka this afternoon, said a press release.
The delegation members are AFM Ruhal Huq, Abul Kalam M Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury, Badruddoza M Farhad Hossain, Khadijatul Anwar and Kanij Fatema Ahmed.
During the visit, Dr Shirin Sharmin will meet with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, President of the House of Councilors of Japan, leaders of the Japan-Bangladesh Committee for Commercial and Economic Cooperation and Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
The Speaker is expected to return home on May 29.
