A review meeting titled Child Health Status Inquiry (PDI) was held in Jamalpur on Monday to look at the victims of malnutrition and the nutritional situation in Jamalpur and to review and do this with the health department and community leaders. Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Syed Abu Abdullah Safi was present as the chief guest.Jahangir Salim, Director of Human Resource Development of Unyan Sangh, presided over the meeting held in the civil surgeon's office, Dr. Nazrul Islam, a heroic freedom fighter.
Jamalpur Area Program (AP) Manager of Development Association Minara Parveen presented the concept paper in the meeting. District Health Education Officer Khandkar Badrul Alam, 1st Ward Councilor of Jamalpur Municipality Shariful Islam Shimul, Headmaster of Hazrat Shahjamal (R) High School Asaduzzaman, Village Development Committee Member Farzana Begum, Mosharf Hossain and others participated in the discussion.According to the sources of the Jamalpur Area Program, 1,610 malnourished children and 1,610 malnourished children and 3 children were found to be overweight by conducting a survey on 5,870 children in wards 1, 10, 11 and 12 of Lakshirchar, Sharifpur and Jamalpur Municipalities of Sadar Upazila.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Abdullah Safi said that health and family planning departments as well as private organizations are working to overcome the malnutrition situation. In this case, people from different classes and professions of the community will come forward and form a social movement. According to AP sources, along with other activities under the Jamalpur Area Program, under the initiative of World Vision and Development Association, the nutritional situation is being improved. Everyone present in the meeting pledged to build a social movement by getting involved in this activity. It was informed in the meeting that AP is organizing such sharing meetings in each working area. As well as demonstrating nutritious cooking.
