Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, has recently joined as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Southern University Bangladesh. He was appointed on June 28 as per the decision of the Board of Trustees.
Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury completed SSC from Chittagong Government Muslim High School in 1974 and HSC from Chittagong College in 1976. He later obtained B.Pharm (Bachelor Honors) and M.Pharm (Masters) degrees from the Department of Pharmacy, Dhaka University.
He started teaching in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) in 1994. He then served as a professor and department head at the same university.
Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury joined as the Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Southern University on November 7, 2008. He has long served as the Head of the Department of Pharmacy at Southern University.
Apart from teaching, Professor Chowdhury is also a member of various committees of Southern University.
Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury said the new post means increased responsibilities. He hopes that he will fulfill the responsibility given to him with honesty and sincerity. He would like to work sincerely to make Southern University an excellent educational institution. He is seeking everyone's cooperation for this. Vice-Chancellor Professor Engineer Mozammel Haque said, "We firmly believe that Southern University will continue to prosper under the supervision of a hardworking and talented teacher like Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury."
Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury was congratulated and welcomed by the Deans, Advisors, Heads of Departments, Registrars, Teachers and other officials of different faculties for joining as Vice-Chancellor.
