Recently, popular Indian musician Sonu Nigam performed a concert in the capital. This time he will take part in a grand concert at the historic Rajbari grounds of Gazipur.
He is already in Bangladesh to attend the concert. Jahangir Alam Education Foundation (JAEF) is the organizer of the concert which will be held this afternoon. It is run by Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam.
Through this programme, JAEF will provide scholarships to meritorious students. After the educational activities of the programme, Sonu Nigam will sing during the cultural event.
Before that, the famous actress and choreographer of Bangladesh Chandni, Mehazabien Chowdhury, Shera Nachiye Mim Chowdhury, Cynthia and Labonno will perform dance routines. Through their dance, these artists will highlight the six seasons of Bengal and the importance of true education.
Gazipur City Mayor Jahangir Alam will preside over the programme with Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader as the chief guest.
Regarding the event, Mayor Jahangir Alam said, ‘Every year I give scholarships to the meritorious students of Gazipur through this foundation. This year is no exception. This is something that I am doing for the welfare of society. I do this by personal initiative. At the end of the programme, there is a wonderful cultural event for the guests and the public’.
