The nationwide lockdown has brought life to a standstill, but Sonakshi Sinha is grateful she is safe at home with her family. “We shouldn’t complain because we are way more fortunate than a lot of other people.
Besides, when I’m not working, I isolate myself at home anyway, waking up late, catching up on films and sketching,” reveals Sonakshi, adding that she has watched the Oscar-winning 'Parasite', Ajay Devgn’s top grosser, 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior', and several Tom Hanks films in the last few weeks.
In this time of crisis, several B-Townies have been supporting daily wage workers and others in need with money and essentials, including her 'Dabangg' hero, Salman Khan.
The actress has gone a step further, supplying Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hospitals. “Atul Kasbekar (photographer-producer) sent me articles about how the frontline staff is unable to take protective measures due to the shortage of PPE kits.
I thought if these doctors, nurses and other hospital staff are unable to work, who will take care of the ailing, and decided to help in this way,”
Meanwhile, the svelte actress has taken a break from her rigorous workout regimen. “We need to keep ourselves sane at this point of time. I find solace in food, so I’m not stressing over workouts now.
I eat what I want, but at the same time, I also keep my body moving,” she said.
“I’m open to direct-to-digital films. If I like a role, I will do the film irrespective of the platform,” she adds.
She is sure the logistics of a shooting schedule post the pandemic will also see a drastic change. “It will take some time for films to go back on the floors.
Even traveling will depend on government rules and regulations. How many flights can take off? How many people can be an active part of the action? It’s all wait and watch for now,” Sonakshi signs off. —TOI
