Snakebite kills two in Damurhuda

Two madrasa students died of snakebite in Chuadanga's Damurhuda. Two of them died while undergoing treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital at around 8 o'clock this Monday morning. The deceased are Abdullah (13) son of Saiful Islam of Chandrabas village of Damurhuda upazila and Junayed (13) son of Shaukat Ali of the same village. Both of them were students of the Nazira section of Chandrabas Darul Uloom Qaumi Madrasa and studied there as residents.

Madrasah director Haji Akhtar Farooq said Abdullah and Junaid were vomiting around 4 am. When asked, they said that a snake had bitten them. So vomiting. Abdullah had bite marks on his right leg and Junaid's left hand. First we take them to the village doctor with the help of other teachers. The village doctor advised them to take them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. Later I took them both to Sadar Hospital and admitted them.

Chuadanga Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Dr. Abdul Quader said, two madrasa students were taken to the emergency department in critical condition around 7 am. The family members said that they were bitten by a snake. We advise them to stay hospitalized and get treatment. Asentivenom was being injected into their bodies. Those two students died around 8 am while undergoing treatment.

Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ferdous Wahid confirmed the matter.
