Smuggler killed in ‘crossfire’

A drug smuggler was killed and two BGB members were injured in a cross fire between BGB men and drug smugglers at village Nutonpara in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district on April 20 at 1:05 am, according to press release of BGB. The deceased was identified as Jasimuddin, 35, son of Abdul Karim of village Nutonpara in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district. 

According to press release of BGB Battalion-58 signed by Kamrul Ahsan, Director, on information  a team of BGB men raided at village Nutonpara in the upazila, detained Jasimuddin along with 23 bottles of phensidyle and took to BGB camp on April 19 at 7 pm. After interrogation he confessed that his accomplices were staying at a mongo garden of the village. 

BGB men with Josimuddin rushed to the area, sensing the presence of BGB Josimuddin 's accomplices fired on them. So Josimuddin fell on fire line and his accomplices left the place.  BGB found that Josimuddin was injured, took him to Jibannagar Hospital, on duty doctor declared him dead. About 300 bottles of phensidyl and sharp weapons were recovered from the spot.
