Skilled teachers, training vital for edu institutions: CCC Mayor

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has commented that the importance of recruiting and training talented teachers is being given for the development of educational institutions managed by Chattogram City Corporation.

In the chairman's speech at the meeting of the management committee of three colleges managed by CCC at the City Corporation office on Monday morning, the mayor said that once the educational institutions managed by CCC led the education sector of Chattogram, but later that trend of improvement could not be maintained.  To change this situation, I have started the process of appointing 37 headmasters and assistant headmasters to increase the skilled manpower in the educational institutions run by CCC so that the educational institutions can turn around under their leadership.  Work is also underway to enhance the skills of teachers through training.

CCC mayor said that the government is making efforts to bring modern changes in the education system of the country.  Teachers are the driving force behind this change.  Because the quality of education depends on the professional skills, dedication and efforts of the teachers.  He urged all the management committee to perform their duties relentlessly for the enlistment and reputation of the educational institution with honesty, sincerity and dedication.

He said that due to factionalism of teachers in educational institutions, the learning environment is damaged and the students are affected.  Therefore, the teachers instructed to take disciplinary action against them, including immediate transfer, according to the rules, if they do anything against factionalism or order. 

He directed to send proposals for construction of boundary wall and gate on the land purchased in the name of Kaiser Nilufar College and construction of damaged wall of Fateyabad College.  In the meeting, the minutes of the previous meeting were read and the income and expenditure account was approved.

CCC Chief Education Officer Lutfun Nahar moderated the meeting.  Education Officer Ujala Rani Chakma, Mayor's Private Secretary Muhammad Abul Hashem, Reserved Councillor Rumki Sen Gupta, Kapasgola City Corporation Women's College Principal Sheikh Mohammad Omar Faruq, Teachers' Representative Prof. Debapriya Chakraborty, Kohinoor Ibrahim CCC Kaiser-Nilufer College Principal Noor Banu Chowdhury, Mohammad Yunuch, SM Shahidul Islam, Aparajita Barua, Sameeran Kumar Sheel, Fathabad College Principal Moinuddin Hasan Tibriji, Zia Amanat Morshed Nayan, Md. Mucha Chowdhury spoke.
