Setuli Group Udayan Club Night Cricket Tournament final match and prize distribution ceremony was held in Jamalpur on the night of 25th December with the aim of building a peaceful social structure against all types of crimes including drugs and gambling in the area.
Community Policing Committee, Sadar Upazila Branch and Jamalpur No. 7 Beat Policing Office provided full-time support to maintain law and order situation in the tournament.
Banglarchithi.com editor and human rights activist Jahangir Salim presided over the prize distribution ceremony organized in the field adjacent to Udayan Club and Beat Police Office No. 7 in Bamunpara of Ward No. 12 of Jamalpur Municipality. Mayor of Jamalpur Municipality Mohammad Chanwar Hossain was present at the inaugural function.
Jamalpur Superintendent of Police Kamruzzaman spoke on the occasion as the chief guest. Mr Kamrul Hasan Milton, Councilor of Ward No. 12 of Jamalpur Municipality was present as the special guest. Also, distinguished elders of the area were present as invited guests.
Udayan Club President Mehdi Hasan Naim and Treasurer Nikhil Sheikh umpired the match. Udayan Club's Organizing Secretary Rakibul Hasan and Religious Affairs Secretary Imran performed the scoring duties.
After the final match, the prize distribution ceremony started. At the beginning of the program, all members of Udayan Club welcomed the chief guest, president and special guests by giving flowers. After that, the guests advised the players to be more promising. At the end of the speech, the Setuli Group Udayan Club Night Cricket Tournament-2023 Season-5 ended by distributing prizes to the champion and runner-up teams.
Incidentally, this tournament started from last December 02 and ended on December 24, 2023. Online news portal Banglarchithid.com and Cricfoot News Bd YouTube channel were media partners in the tournament. Every match was held at night. 32 teams from Jamalpur participated in this tournament with seven cricketers per team and 6 over matches.
