Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested six members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Savar, outskirts of capital Dhaka on Sunday.
Director of RAB-4 Md Mozammel Hoque confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.
The arrestee were identified as Md Omar Faruque alias Rubel, 28, Md Habibur Rahman alias Badsha, 48, Md Saidur Rahman alias Saidur, Mahbubur Rahman Dudu, Md Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, 37, Md Golam Mostofa, 51. All but Rubel hails from Jamalpur while the latter is from Rajshahi.
RAB said they admitted to having involved with the JMB for long during primary interrogation.
Of them, Rubel, a Madrasa teacher, was introduced with top JMB leader Badsha before being radicalized. He got training on encryption and then joined the outfit.
Habibur, an active member, was joined JMB five years ago, RAB said.
The crime busting unit gleaned important information from his mobile phone.
He was in touch with several secret online groups of JMB and maintained online communication with the outfit leaders.
Badsha, a JMB leader in Jamalpur Sadar uipazila, joined the outfit 10 years ago. He along with other militant leaders had been conducting motivational activities on behalf of JMB.
Saidur, who joined JMB 20 years ago, financed the new recruits.
Dudu distributed Jhihadist publications among their targeted people as part of radicalizations.
Shafiq, in guise of different professions, maintained contacts to senior militant leaders.
A highly trained JMB leader, Mostofa supplied arms and ammunition in the killing of converted Christian Goni Gomej in Jamalpur in 2004.
RAB seized a large amount of Jhihadist publications, digital contents, travel bags and torch lights from their possessions.
Process was on to file case in this connection.
