‘Sisimpur’ is a much-loved children’s television program. ‘Sisimpur’ is going to be on screen of Maasranga channel starting from September 1, Tuesday. ‘Sisimpur’ will be telecasted in the evening on Sunday to Thursday from 6pm to 7pm. It will also be shown on Friday mornings at 9 am.
Regarding this the Executive Director of ‘Sisimpur’, Mohammad Shah Alam says that ‘Sisimpur’ is an exceptional Early Childhood Development initiative for the children at pre-primary level. He added, “All the components of Sismpur program is based on researches and created considering Children’s cognitive development. We always want this endeavor of ‘Sisimpur’ to reach every children in Bangladesh. As part of this attempt ‘Sisimpur’ program will be shown on Maasranga Television. Both old and new episodes of ‘Sisimpur’ will be seen on Maasranga. So, it will be convenient for our little friends who like to watch ‘Sisimpur’ again and again. Again, our new little friends will get opportunity to watch plenty of ‘Sisimpur’ episodes altogether.”
This is noteworthy that ‘Sisimpur’ is the Bangladeshi version of the world-famous American television show ‘Sesame Street’. ‘Sesame Street’ has been working for the skills development of children in areas like language, literacy, maths, social, cognitive and humanitarian in more than 150 countries throughout the world.
In 2010 ‘Sisimpur’ has been rated as the most popular children’s program and was in third position among all genres of programs in a survey conducted by BBC World Service Trust. It has been evident in a long-term research conducted by ACPR in 2007 that the children who watches ‘Sisimpur’ show regularly have displayed better performance in literacy and language, maths and socio-cultural skills than the children who are one year older than them but do not watch ‘Sisimpur’ program.
