Sirajganj tailors busy ahead of Eid, customers still placing orders

The holy month of Ramadan is almost over. And after a few days, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed. The tailors of Sirajganj are busy making new clothes ahead of Eid. Orders are being taken from dawn till midnight. Tailors are getting busier day by day.

As Eid means happiness and joy, new clothes increase this joy several times. Therefore, as the time of Eid approaches, besides the market, the traffic of people increases at the doors of tailors. People are flocking to tailors to make clothes according to their heart in keeping with modernity.

With Eid ahead, the tailor shops are buzzing with the sound of sewing machines. Many people are flocking there to make richly designed clothes. There is no time for the city's tailors to be suffocating now. Of course, the busyness has started even before the fast.

Tailors have been seen roaming around the city's roads since morning, artisans are getting a lot of orders for sewing work in every small and big shop. Each craftsman is making 6 to 8 ordered garments per day depending on the type.

Eid is ahead, so there is no opportunity to stop the only source of livelihood even for a moment. No one is taking new orders as the time is almost over for taking orders. As happy as they are to get new clothes on demand, customers are rushing to their favorite tailors to get their clothes made to their liking.

Several tailor owners in the city said that customers are flocking to tailor shops to buy ready-made three-piece and thin clothes for their favorite clothes. The tailors are working day and night to make the clothes that the customers like. Some tailors have brought seasonal artisans from different areas to handle the workload.

The heart of the city S. Jewel Rana, the owner of Asian Tailors in AB Super Market located on S. Road, said that the tailors are no longer taking orders for boys' pants-shirts. The artisans are working day and night to deliver the orders that were taken. When asked about the wages of new pants and shirts, Jewel Rana said that the wages of pants are 400 Tk, the wages of shirts are 300 Tk and the wages of Punjabis are 400 Tk. On the other hand, owner of Kona Tailors located in Khalifa Patti in the city said that the wages for making clothes for girls are a little higher than last time. Especially the wages of silk, georgette, katan, linen, Banarasi fabrics are slightly higher. It takes 300 to 500 taka to make a three-piece set. These wages are different depending on the tailors in different markets of the city.

Sirajganj Superintendent of Police Ariful Islam Mondal said that shopping pressure has increased in shopping malls, markets and shops around EidAt this time, extra police have been deployed in front of the city's important market shopping mall road to ensure that there is no deterioration of the law and order situation due to excessive crowding and also the traffic police is working responsibly in the city. The Superintendent of Police is monitoring the market at all times.

Shahriar Parvez Zico, a buyer who came to buy new clothes in the market, said, "After a few days, our biggest religious festival is the holy Eid-ul-Fitr." I came to the market to buy new clothes for boys and girls. But the price of clothes we are struggling to afford. It is very difficult for us who are low income people. Alth­ough the price of clothes in the market has increased, our income has not increased.
