The murder of retired Major Sinha Md Rashed Khan has sparked discussions and rage rants all across the country. With the amount of people now talking about this killing, it is a matter of time before proper punishment is awarded to those who took part in the inhumane killing of a retired decorated army officer of the country. However, it is also very much important to keep in mind that no misunderstanding arises between the army and the police.

Under such a circumstance, it is imperative to ensure that no unwanted discrepancies take place in the country between the army and the police personnel. We have to count on our justice system so that proper punitive actions are taken against those involved. In a report published in this daily it said that a court in Cox’s Bazar sent seven policemen, including former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and Inspector Liakat Ali, to jail on Thursday.

Proper investigation into the matter should be ensured

so that no other hidden culprits get away unscathed without

facing any repercussions for their actions

We appreciate this action as no quarter should be given and mercy shown to the evil doers in the country. With swift action proper investigation should also be ensured so that no other hidden culprits get away unscathed without facing any repercussions for their actions. On the other hand, the published report also showed that the court wants proper probe into the matter and has thus instructed the authorities concerned accordingly.

In view of this it can be surmised that the court and the officials involved in the investigation are promptly working to conclude the case in a manner which would reveal the truth. We highly commend such impartial and swift action by all concerned authorities.
