Tamanna Farah, Judge of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Cox's Bazar granted bail for Sahedul Islam Sifat, a Stamford University student and Co-worker and Photographer of Major ( retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, assassinated in Police gunfire in Cox's Bazar. The court also ordered to hand over the charge of the investigation of the case filed against Sifat and Shipra to the RAB.
Earlier on Sunday noon, Delowar Hossain, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Cox's Bazaar, granted the bail petition of the Stamford University student Shipra Debnath and she was released on Sunday. The hearing for bail in two cases including murder and the drug cases against Sifat was held at the Senior Judicial Magistrate court in Cox's Bazaar on Sunday. At the same time, an appeal to hand over the investigation of the case was also filed.
It is learnt, on July 31 night, Major (retd.) Sinha and Sahedul were driving through the Marine drive road. While they reached near the police check post f Shamlapur under Baharchhara union of Cox's Bazar, Major Sinha was shot dead in police gunfire. Sahedul was arrested from the spot and two separate cases were filed against Sahedul and Shipra. Both of them were sent to jail.
