A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Atghoria Police Station in Pabna, Dulal Hossain died after being electrocuted on Saturday.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said that Atghoria Police Station was decorated with colourful lights. Cables of the lights were also tangled with the flag pole. Somehow the pole was touched with the electric wire. SI Dulal unintentionally touched the pole when he was talking on mobile phone and got electrocuted.
He was rushed to Atghoria Upazila Health Complex. On duty doctor of the health complex pronounced him dead.
We are investigating to find out is there any negligence of anyone in the incident or not.
SI Dulal Hossain, son of late Abed Ali was from Hasanpur village under Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi District. He joined the police force in 1993. He was transferred into Atghoria Police Station two years ago.
