Shwapno wins Asia’s marketer of the year award


Shwapno, one of the country’s largest retail chains and superstores, has been adjudged the ‘Asia’s Marketing Company of the Year of 2020’ from Asia Marketing Federation (AMF).

The award was given at the 6th AMF Asia Marketing Excellence Award ceremony, said a press release. 

AMF is the governing body of marketing in the region whose member countries include Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh. 

The release said the award reflects the excellence of marketers in the admirable qualities of versatility, innovativeness, and infallible growth.

It said Shwapno charmed the jury board, competing against participants from Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam. 

According to the release, Shwapno has been recognised for its outstanding efforts in the marketing of its products and services. 

The Jury members undertook a meticulous assessment of all the submissions throughout November 2020, and selected the winners through a rigorous process. 

The Bangladesh Chapter of Marketing Society of Bangladesh (MSB) of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF) and Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) chose the nominees in two categories -- Marketing Company of the Year, and Marketing 3.0. 

The Marketing Company of the Year (MCOY), for which SHWAPNO was nominated, required the organisation to have admirable qualities of versatility, innovativeness, and strategies.
