Prof Mamun Al Mahtab Shwapnil has been selected as a member of the Statement Working Group of ‘IAP statement on Regenerative Medicine’.
The Inter-academy partnership (IAP) is a global network of science, engineering and medical academies to provide expert advice on scientific, technological and health issues.
Science academies from around the world had sent nominations. From them 12 were finally selected.
“I am grateful to Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) for nominating me,” he said in his official facebook page.
Prof Shwapnil is the chairman of the liver department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University.
He is one of the two key scientists who invented breakthrough medicine called Nasvac for Hepatitis B treatment.
He is also actively involved with different social activities.
He is the member secretary of the Sampriti Bangladesh which promotes the idea of secularism in the country.
