Shraddha Kapoor to play Sulata in Masud Rana

The movie is set to be based on the 'Dhongsho Pahar’ series of the popular Bangladeshi thriller novel Masud Rana. Bollywood's popular actress Shraddha Kapoor is to join in on the action. Jaaz Multimedia, one of the producers of the film 'Masud Rana', confirmed this.

According to a movie source, Sulata Debi will be played by Shraddha in the film. The character of Sulata is also a spy in the novel. At one point, Masud falls in love with Sulata.

Popular international magazine reported on Wednesday that the shooting of the film will begin on September 23. But a source related to the movie says that it can be postponed.

Several international stars have been contracted to perform in the film 'Masud Rana'. They are Hollywood's ‘Iron Man 2’ villain Mickey Rourke and Indian wrestler 'Kali'. ‘The Transporter’ famed Gabriel Wright, Daniel Benhart and Michael Pare from 'The Matrix Reloaded'.

And Masud Rana, Kabir Chowdhury and Rupa will be played by Bangladeshi artistes. Masud Rana’s boss Rahat Khan will be played by a retired Major General of the Bangladesh Army. Soon the names will be formalized.

The budget of the film, to be made in two languages, is estimated at $ 10 million or about Tk 84 crore. The film’s shooting will be in Mauritius, Thailand and Bangladesh. Masud Rana, a former intelligence detective with the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has served as a project adviser sop that Masud Rana looks like a real spy.

Abdul Aziz, Asif Akbar and Nazim Ud Daula have adapted the screenplay from Kazi Anwar Hossain's novel 'Masud Rana - Dhongsho Pahar'. Hollywood’s professional scriptwriter movie critics later fine-tuned the screenplay. The film will be directed by Asif Akbar, a Hollywood director of Bangladeshi origin.
