Reorganised syllabus and assignment tasks for 2022 Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC and equivalent) examinations have been published.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) published assignment and the syllabus prepared by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) on its website on Monday.
According to an office order regarding the short syllabus, normal class activities have been suspended in all educational institutions across the country since March 17, last year due to surge in Covid-19 pandemic. Students admitted in class XI in the academic year 2020-2021 could not participate in the normal class activities as per the prescribed syllabus so the students could not be evaluated.
It further said that the Ministry of Education is undertaking various actions as a substitute. As part of this, NCTB has rearranged the curriculum and syllabus for the 2022 HSC examination.
NCTB has prepared the assignment or scheduled assignment with Thematic Assessment Guidelines (Rubrics), in order to involve the students in the learning activities and bring them under uninterrupted assessment, on the basis of the restructured curriculum as per the instructions of the Ministry of Education.
The office order says that the assignments have been prepared bearing the weekly student assessment in mind as per the rearranged syllabus. Therefore, the learning outcomes achieved through it will be determined.
These tasks will be regularly uploaded on DSHE’s website before the start and at the end of a week. Students are guided to complete and submit these tasks online or directly to the educational institution. However, hygiene guidelines must be followed.
