A grocery shop owner went helpless when a devastating fire had gutted his all belongings in the shop in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah which took place in the midnight of Tuesday, The affected shop owner had blamed the short circuit of electricity happened from his refrigerator.
Sabuj Hossain, a grocery shop owner at Katlagari Puratanbazer said he was running a medium level grocery shop borrowing money from BRAC and some other money lending agencies and persons.
He left the shop at abut 9pm. At about 12.30pm, a guard in the market had phoned him that the shop was caught by fire. Locals informed the matter to Shailkupa fire service and civil defense (FSCD) station.
They along with the locals brought the fire after 90 minutes, while they failed to rescue any goods from the spot. Now he has been moving here and thee to stand him to make up the loss.
FSCD Shailkupa station officer when contacted said they are assuming that the goods for a several lakh taka was gutted in the fire made the shop owner helpless.
