Shonibar Bikel to compete in Munich Film Festival

After the Moscow and Sydney, the movie ‘Shonibar Bikel’ by Mustafa Sarwar Farooqi has been selected at the Munich Film Festival. The competition team will fight for the CineCoPro Award of the competition. Sources from Jaaz Multimedia have confirmed this information.

In addition to ‘Shonibar Bikel’, among the films selected for this competition are ‘It Must Be Heaven’ by Elia Suleiman which is the winner of the Fipresci Prize at the 'Cannes Film Festival', ‘The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmao’ directed by Brazilian director Karim Ainoj, which was selected as the best movie in the Certain Regard section at the Cannes Festival, The film 'The Orphanage', which was selected in the 'Directors Fortnight' section of Cannes Film Festival 2019. Moreover, the films ‘The Whistlers’ and ‘The Traitor’ have also been selected in the same category along with the ‘Gaza’ which was screened at the World Premiere of Sundance Film Festival.

Nine films will compete for the best film award and the best one will be awarded 1 million euros. The awards will be presented through a ceremony which will be organized on July 5.

The screening of ‘Shonibar Bikel’ will be held at the Munich Festival on June 29, 30 and July 1. Director Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi will go to Munich on the date of the festival to join.

Also the movie ‘Shonibar Bikel’ will be shown in London before going to Munich. The film will be screened on June 25 at the famous Barbican Art Center in London and on Genesis on June 27. It will be shown under the Bagri Foundation Liff Festival.

It is to be noted that on Monday, the ‘Shonibar Bikel’ was a part of the Moscow Film Festival, winning two Independent Jury Awards.

The film based on militant attacks has been jointly produced by Jaaz Multimedia, Chhobial and Tandem Production. Actors from different countries acted in it. Among them are Palestine's Yad Hurani, West Bengal's actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay. Apart from them, Jahid Hassan, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Mamunur Rashid, Iresh Zaker and many others from Bangladesh.
