Shonibar Bikel going to Korea

Eminent Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s seventh and latest full-length film ‘Shonibar Bikel’ (Saturday Afternoon) will be participating in the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2019 in Korea. The 10-day festival will start on October 3.

Jointly produced by Germany and Bangladesh, ‘Shonibar Bikel’ is based on the Holey Artisan Bakery tragedy.

Earlier, the film was screened at ‘London India Film Festival’ on June 27 and at the Munich International Film Festival in Germany on June 29.

The film ‘Shonibar Bikel’ also won two independent jury awards at the 41st Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) in April this year.

The film casts Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Zahid Hasan, Mamunur Rashid, Nader Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar, Iresh Zaker and Gousul Alam Shaon from Bangladesh, while Palestinian actor Eyad Hourani and Indian actor Parambrata Chatterjee are also among the other cast in the film.
