A 'Liberation War Corner' has been set up at Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) under the direction of the Ministry of Shipping to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence in a colorful and dignified manner.
State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury officially inaugurated the corner at BSC Bhaban in Chattogram on Sunday afternoon.
Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan and BSclC Managing Director Commodore Sumon Mahmud Sabbir were present on the occasion.
According to BSC sources, the history from the language movement to the liberation war has been continuously presented in the Liberation War Corner. It is to be noted that this also includes the contribution of the freedom fighter officers and employees of BSC.
Besides, pictures and 3D murals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Liberation War Corner; Pictures with the title of the 1952 language movement; Pictures with the title of the 1969 uprising; Pictures with the title of the March 7 speech; Pictures with the title of the battlefield of the War of Independence; Live shows of the March 7 speech and various important speeches of the government through LED TV; Surrender document of Pakistani forces; Document of establishment of BSC; A library of 70 books on the history of Liberation War and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; Pictures and brief descriptions of BSC ex-officers and employees; To make the Liberation War Corner attractive, the show-pieces have been set up and the details of each subject have been beautifully illustrated through QR codes.
Shipping minister said this organization formed by Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu has contributed a lot behind the creation of BSC. Today's Bangladesh is based on Bangabandhu. Bangladesh has turned around which has caught the eye of the world in 3.5 years. BSC has now become a profit institution. BSC is going to buy a new ship. The country will be more prosperous if the country's maritime industry goes ahead.
