Sherpur bridge on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway closed for 4 days

The Sherpur Bridge over the Kushiyara River on the Sylhet-Dhaka Highway has been closed for four days. 

Roads and Highways Department (RHD) of Sylhet closed the bridge for repairing on Friday 6 am which will remain closed till Tuesday ( July 7) 6 am.

In the letter, signed by Ritesh Barua, Executive Engineer of Roads and Urban Development Division of Sylhet, he requested the use of Sherpur-Moulvibazar-Rajnagar-Fenchuganj-Sylhet road as an alternative from Friday morning while the bridge gets repaired.

In this regard, Ritesh Barua said that the repair work of the damaged deck slab of 192 km Sherpur Bridge and 198 km Kagazpur Bridge of Sylhet-Dhaka Highway has started from Friday morning. 

All traffic on the two bridges will be closed during the repair work. 

He hoped that the work would  be completed on time if it did  not rain.
