Sheikh Jamal held by RMFS

Rahmatgonj MFS Club held second-placed Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to 1-1 draw in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. 

No teams were able to break the deadlock in the first half. Both the team tried their level best but failed to score in the first 45 minutes. In the second half SK Jamal got the lead in 49th minute but RMFS equalized within two minutes. 

Sheikh Jamal’s Uzbekistani forward Atabek scored but their happiness lasted for only two minutes as RMFS Cote d’Ivoire striker levelled the score for his team. 

SK Jamal remain on the second position with 23 points from 11 matches while RMFS are in ninth position with 10 points from the same number of matches. 

Meanwhile, after successive draws in the BPL, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting club, once the mighty giants returned to winning ways by handling an emphatic 2-0 defeat to struggling Muktijoddha SKC at the Cumilla Stadium on Tuesday. 

Mali forward Souleymane Diabate put the Dhaka outfit side ahead in the first half before Burkina Faso defender Mounzir Coulidiate wrapped up the victory to deliver the team’s fifth victory in 11 outings, helping them climb up to the fourth position with 19 points. 

MSC have started to show some consistency. The Dhaka based team side showed best their performance into yesterday’s match and cashed in all three points in their bag. MSC took 35 minutes to break the deadlock when forward Souleymane Diabate scored the first goal for his team. It was Diabate’s eight goal of the season.  

In the second half MSC became more aggressive and scored the second goal to seal the win. This time Mounzir Coulidiate netted the ball into Mukti’s net with the help of his team mate Rahman Sohag.
