Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not only a politician but also a talented statesperson. Her leadership is like magic, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. He said, “We politicians always think about how and in what way we will be able to win the next election. But Sheikh Hasina is a successful statesperson. She always thinks about the next generation. Keeping in mind about the next generation, she has been working since assuming power.”
He came up with the observation at a discussion at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital on Friday. Dhaka City South Unit of Awami Jubo League arranged the discussion as part of its month-long programme to celebrate the birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the ‘People’s Empowerment Day’.
Like previous years, Awami League and its affiliated organisations will celebrate the day through organising various humanitarian events and discussions on the life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina who is driving the nation towards prosperity following the footsteps of her father.
Quader said, “The development approach of Sheikh Hasina put BNP in trouble and it could not overcome this. That’s why the party is lobbying foreigners.”
Mentioning about Sheikh Hasina's love and affection for the young leaders, he said the kindness and love of Sheikh Hasina towards the party workers is unparalleled. “What Sheikh Hasina has done for me while I was hospitalised is comparable to motherly affection. She loves her party workers like a mother.”
Awami League general secretary said that earlier youth politics was all about violence and anarchy. Now it means gaining knowledge through studying and doing politics with that. Sheikh Hasina has helped Awami League prosper because of her talent, integrity and tireless work. Her acceptance and respect for the people of the country has taken her to unique heights. None of us can match her reputation worldwide. "The development and progress that is now taking place in Bangladesh is due to the magical leadership of Sheikh Hasina."
He said that Bangabandhu, the father of the nation, has brought us independence. And Sheikh Hasina has taken the country on the highway of development under her leadership. Criticising BNP, Quader said, "Despite the criticisms of BNP, they cannot deny that Sheikh Hasina has achieved remarkable development and progress." The unpredictable progress of Bangladesh has put the opposition politicians in crisis.
“BNP does negative politics. So they have no way of getting out of this crisis. BNP is complaining to foreigners who are losing confidence in the people of the country and are defaming their own country,”he added. On the crisis of Jatiya Party, Obaidul Quader said that it is the internal matter of Jatiya Party. “The government has nothing to do with this. We will recognize those who sit in opposition seats in the constitutional way, just as the speaker rules. We have no prejudice towards anyone of Jatiya Party.”
