The 76th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be celebrated across the country today. Sheikh Hasina, the eldest among the five children of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj on September 28 in 1947.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the longest serving statesman in the history of Bangladesh. She is working relentlessly to build a prosperous golden Bangladesh.

After the assassination of her parents in 1975, Sheikh Hasina and her family were offered political asylum in India, where she stayed till 1981 when she was elected as the president of the Awami League in her absence. The country is now on the path of becoming a developed one by dint of the strong and courageous leadership of the premier.

Under her leadership, Bangladesh has become a role model of development attaining steady economic growth. Her role in extending humanitarian support to over 1.1 million forcibly displaced Rohingyas from Myanmar, who took shelter in Cox's Bazar, drew accolades from global leaders, international forums and institutions and eminent personalities.

Bangladesh has now become a role model

 of development because of

Sheikh Hasina’s able, honest and dynamic

leadership

All know the vested quarter led by military dictator Ziaur Rahman, who assassinated Bangabandhu in 1975, also tried to destroy Awami League by killing its president Sheikh Hasina with grenades on an anti-terrorism rally at Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21 in 2004. More than 20 attempts, including grenade attacks, were made to kill Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. Those who planned the attack made every effort to kill her.

So, it is clear to all Sheikh Hasina’s security remains at the highest risk. We know who were behind the killing of Bangabandhu and the heinous attempt of killing Sheikh Hasina through grenade attacks. Therefore, on the occasion of her 76th birth anniversary all concerned have to pay more attention to Sheikh Hasina’s security aspect now.

Our Bangladesh is safe as it is in the hands of Sheikh Hasina. If our country goes to some other hands, the incidents of killings in the country will surface again, deviating from the right track and it will become champion in corruption again.

Bangladesh has now become a role model of development because of Sheikh Hasina’s able, honest and dynamic leadership. So, there should be no compromise with the security of Sheikh Hasina. Security measures for her (Sheikh Hasina) must be dealt with carefully in the future. Being imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation, the pro-democratic and patriotic people are there to save their beloved leader Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina at any cost.
