While replying to a volley of questions about the outcome of her two-day state visit to India, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a press conference at Ganabhaban categorically said, “Everyone should keep in mind that I’m the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahmana and Bangabandhu’s daughter cannot sell Bangladesh as we have liberated the country through the Liberation War.”

All know that India helped Bangladesh attain independence by joining the liberation war with their arms and ammunition. Even then, some say the Awami League government has sold Bangladesh to India by signing a rail communication deal.

How do they say this? In fact, those who talk like this have sold themselves to India. Those who say the Awami League (AL) government is selling Bangladesh to India are the stooges of Pakistan.

We highly applaud Sheikh Hasina’s such bold statement which manifests her love for the country and its people. It is known to all that a vested quarter is trying to destabilise the country to seize state power through the back door and hinder the democratic process of the country.  AL is a party of the people and it believes in the country’s peace and progress. The AL government has been running the country for over 15 consecutive years after being elected by the people. Now people will judge whether the AL government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can sell the country to India.

Those who say the Awami League

government is selling  Bangladesh

to India are stooges of Pakistan

Sheikh Hasina-led government formulated urgent short and long-term plans in the light of her party’s poll manifesto with an aim to advance the country's socioeconomic progress. All the biggest achievements, including the hard-earned independence, came at the hands of the Aawmi League. In the last 15 years and six months of its tenure, the image of Bangladesh has brightened abroad. Today no one considers Bangladesh as a ‘basket case.’ Bangladesh is now an emerging economy and a role model of development.

But the BNP-Jamaat clique has employed hired intellectuals and statement-givers at home and abroad to malign AL. They are trying to mislead people by spreading false information on social media. All should stay alert so that none in the name of movement can harm people’s lives and livelihoods and snatch away their rights.

Only then our country will be transformed into a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ from a digital one by 2041 under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Hasina has a good relationship with all the  political leaders of India, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mamata Banerjee. She also has a good relationship with Sonia Gandhi and their children, and the family members of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee. Bangladesh’s government is maintaining relations with other countries based on it foreign policy, "Friendship to all, malice to none".  India is very important for our country as its soldiers along with our freedom fighters shed blood for the independence of Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971.

Sheikh Hasina works for the welfare and development of the country and its people maintaining friendly relations with all. We believe  Bangladesh will go ahead riding on the good relations with India. People of the country do not pay heed to any propaganda, instead  they believe in in socioeconomic development of the country. Now, the world is changing fast and so the authorities concerned and our missions abroad should take quick and effective measures to thwart anti-Bangladesh propaganda alongside establishing deeper relations with all the foreign countries.
